10 "Puzzling" Lessons

During quarantine 2020, I renewed a forgotten passion.   Jigsaw Puzzles.  I shocked myself, my husband, and everyone who knows me in my mission to complete the puzzles, as in ALL the puzzles.  (Hello, enneagrram 3). Much to my surprise (not really), my lock-down companions taught me some powerful life lessons.  It is my pleasure to share.
  • To truly appreciate the bigger picture, take it apart and put it back together.
  • No matter how similar a jigsaw piece might seem, each is uniquely crafted to fit in a specific place.
  • Forcing a piece in the wrong place will distort the entire picture.
  • Shades of  blue and green are infinite.  Study and appreciate them all.
  • The act of framing gives one perspective.
  • Uniquely shaped puzzle pieces are sought after and treasured.
  • Deconstruction takes seconds.
  • Reconstruction takes days (maybe weeks).
  • There is tremendous satisfaction in linking pieces together.
  • Missing pieces are disturbing and unsettling. When one spends the time to reconstruct, the "insignificance of one piece"  disappears.
